Eyeing that job opening for an Air Traffic Controller which you’ve heard is less stressful than working on proposals? Thinking about installing a revolving door in your department because millennial staff are searching for work-life balance? Then perhaps you need help finding opportunities to have FUN with proposals! This session will explore the possibilities by equipping you with the “Fundamentals of Funny” and will show you ways to cut stress and improve job satisfaction for you and your team so you actually look forward to working on proposals. Hard to believe, I know…but we wouldn’t say it if it weren’t true. Join us if a need a break from other sessions – you might learn something that will make your work life more fun!

Presenter Bios

Diane Wurzer, CP APMP
Vice President-Proposal Operations
MAXIMUS, Inc.

Diane Wurzer, CP APMP, has more than 16 years’ proposal and grant writing and management experience. She is Vice President of Proposal Operations at MAXIMUS, Inc., having served as director of Network Operations for five years prior to moving into proposal operations. She leads a team of proposal writers and managers focused mainly on state and federal health and human services opportunities. She is a member of the APMP-NCA (National Capital Area) chapter and is serving as a mentor in the 2017 Mentor-Protégé program. She was a speaker at least year’s APMP Bid & Proposal Con in Boston (“Customer Service or Customer Servant? Striking the Right Balance with Your Internal Customers”) and is working on obtaining her Professional APMP certification.

Erin Green, CF APMP
Proposal Manager
MAXIMUS, Inc.

Erin Green, CF APMP, has more than 10 years’ experience in government procurement. She is a Proposal Manager at MAXIMUS, leading large and small efforts in the preparation and delivery of winning proposals worldwide for national, state, and local clients. Erin has been engaged with APMP-NCA since 2011. She is a graduate of the APMP-NCA Mentor-Protégé program, and the inaugural recipient of the APMP-NCA scholarship. She holds a BA from Florida State University.
