The Story of How Two Competing Firms Became A Family/ AKA Everything I Have Learned About Building a Proposal Team, I Learned from the Brady Bunch

Accounting firms Myers and Stauffer LC and PHBV Partners combined firms on January 1, 2013, creating a premier player in the regulatory health care industry. This session provides a behind-the-scenes, in-depth look at how the two firms' proposal teams, who had competed against each other for decades, were able to combine resources, more than double the amount of proposals produced and win greater than 70 percent of the bids. We will share best practices, challenges and lessons learned to build a winning proposal team.

Presenter Bios

Susan Quinn, CF APMP

Myers and Stauffer LC

Ms. Quinn has more than 20 years of marketing, communications and proposal development experience in the professional services industry. She currently leads the proposal team at Myers and Stauffer LC, where she has developed a Proposal Resource Center, trained three new staff in less than a year, and still writes more than 40 proposals a year. She is the former president of the IABC - Baltimore Chapter and she holds a bachelor's degree in English from St. Mary's College of Maryland.

Amy Schuman

Ms. Schuman has more than 25 years of experience in professional services marketing for the accounting, architecture and education industries. For the past 18 years, she has led Myers and Stauffer's marketing efforts, which balances writing winning government proposals with enhancing internal and external communications. Ms. Schuman graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelor's degree in Journalism.
