Speakers for the 20th Annual APMP International Conference & Exhibits will be selected using a competitive process. The selection committee will review the abstracts based on the criteria below to ensure that they support the conference theme and address topics that will appeal to the many interests and needs of our membership. We plan to announce presenters by December 12, 2008.
Conference session lengths will be 1.5 hours with 15 minute breaks. We are using TRACK criteria for selecting this year’s presentations, and ask that you use this structure for developing your abstract. The TRACK criteria are as follows:
| |
Theory or Theme |
How does your presentation directly relate to the overall theme?
|
| |
Rationale |
What proposal rationale or real-world theory is being used to demonstrate and support the presentation (e.g., metrics, case study results, body of knowledge, etc.)?
|
| |
Application |
How does this apply to “my job” back at work?
|
| |
Conclusion |
What main idea or practice will a member at the conference learn from your presentation that is applicable to the proposal profession? How does your topic synthesize with the proposal profession and/or business capture? |
| |
Knowledge |
How will your presentation reinforce the relationship between your topic and the conference theme? How does knowledge of your topic/presentation reinforce best practices, meet certification program CEU criteria, and/or enhance APMP Body of Knowledge principles?
|
All selected presenters will receive a $100 discount off the conference registration fee. If you are selected as a presenter, we will work with you to develop your presentation and the information (your presentation abstract and biographical sketch) needed to publicize the presentation.
Knowledge is Power
By using the term Knowledge, we have an opportunity to focus on the work APMP has done over the years and the Knowledge Base that we are growing today through the Body of Knowledge and Accreditation.
APMP has a 20-year history of advancing the “arts and sciences of proposal management.” We have recognized that the original mission needed expansion because of the knowledge that our members were seeking. This modification to the original mission expanded our audience to include those who are involved with capture planning and the front end of the business. In addition, we have embraced the challenges of globalization of our membership. So Knowledge IS Power when we look back on the changes in our profession, from people to processes to technologies.
