The major objectives of the
Association of Cost Engineers
(ACostE) are to promote Cost Engineering as a recognised discipline of engineering technology, to provide means of developing, exchanging and disseminating standards, methods and data relating to Cost Engineering and to provide recognised standards of attainment in the practice of Cost Engineering.
The Association of Cost Engineers represent all groups of Project Controls Professionals and not just, as the title suggests, Cost Engineers. It is the Association's belief that Cost Engineering is the common and intimately related thread though all Project Control Disciplines.
The
Business Development Institute International
(BD-Institute) is a non-profit organization, dedicated to promoting business development excellence through the Capability Maturity Model® for Business Development (BD-CMM) and providing direct support and services to BD-CMM users and service providers.
The BD-Institute provides a basis for collaboration among diverse communities involved in business development. These communities are represented by Alliance Partners and professional organizations from around the world that share in the BD-Institute's vision of an innovative community of practice and participate in the continuing development of BD-CMM as a broad-based framework of business development best practices and systems that promote sustainable results in a competitive world.
The
Society for Technical Communication
(STC) is an individual membership organization dedicated to advancing the arts and sciences of technical communication. It is the largest organization of its type in the world. Its 18,000 members include technical writers and editors, content developers, documentation specialists, technical illustrators, instructional designers, academics, information architects, usability and human factors professionals, visual designers, Web designers and developers, and translators - anyone whose work makes technical information available to those who need it.
Society membership provides opportunities for ongoing learning and professional networking. Through the efforts of a small, full-time staff and a large network of volunteers, STC promotes the public welfare by educating its members and industry about issues concerning technical communication.
