The APMP has worked with industry to define a comprehensive competency for Bid and Proposal Professionals. This has included working with the BD-Institute International to define the competency standards required to achieve Best Practice in Business Development.

The APMP also works with the APM Group to ensure that the processes for examination and assessment are always consistent and fair across the world. The APM Group administers the examination and assessment processes, on behalf of the APMP.

The defined Key Competency Areas, and individual Competencies, map directly on the subjects identified in APMP Accreditation Syllabus.
