Program Benefits to Organizations

APMP accreditation assesses the tangible impact made by individual proposal managers. Organizations can directly benefit from their employees being accredited by APMP, as the Accreditation Program has been designed to ensure that it:

  • Encourages retention of staff
  • Supports competency based recruitment and promotion of staff
  • Supports organizational initiatives such as IIP (Investors in People)
  • Identifies performers
  • Improves performance

Return on Investment Calculator for Organizations

Research carried out by the UK Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) in 2004 suggests that 35% – 37% of staff leave their organizations as a direct result of “lack of development or career opportunities”. Investment in professional accreditation should reduce this number. The same report provides typical annual labor turnover figures for managers and professionals, across all industries, as 12.5%.

The 2002 Society for Human Resource Management/Employment Management Association Staffing Metrics Study found that the general “rule of thumb” for the cost to replace an employee is 100% – 150% of their annual salary.

APMP has put together a simple calculator (Microsoft Excel workbook) that will allow you to calculate the likely return on your investment, for your organization, in the accreditation of your proposal teams. Click here to download the free calculator (63kB).
