Dutch APMP is the APMP chapter located and operating in the Netherlands. The chapter was founded in 2004. The Dutch market for proposal professionals is still quite immature. Whereas in the US, this has been a – more or less - recognized field of expertise since the early eighties, in the Netherlands it only started to really take shape in the late nineties.

Until recently, “anyone with a pulse” was deemed fit to manage or write a proposal (be it a secretary, a project manager or an accountant). This has vastly changed, and we at the Dutch APMP like to think we’re helping to accelerate this process!

Dutch APMP Works hard to improve and update knowledge and skills, to take the proposal community to a higher level. The association helps people get in touch with proposal colleagues to share information in a safe environment and to return to the office with new enthusiasm! In order to realize this, training, presentations and exams are being offered and/or recommended!

We are very proud to be part of the worldwide APMP organization, as this provides us with a wealth of knowledge and best practices. Also, this greatly increased our credibility. By being able to offer APMP resources and experiences all over the world, potential hosts and speakers are happy to participate in our meetings.

It’s difficult to say what the most important results from our meetings are. And that’s a good thing. On the one hand, we’ve all learned a lot and derived inspiration from our speakers. On the other hand, meeting fellow proposal professionals has both been inspiring and provided great networking possibilities.

We look forward to continue to grow the number and diversity of Dutch APMP members, improve our skills and our meetings and events. With the support from our US and British APMP colleagues, this will certainly happen!
