OPENING UP THE
A panel discussion in "Question Time" format exploring how groups across the procurement spectrum can work together more effectively to improve the outcome for all
How often have you wished you could speak to the team who wrote the tender or RFP? ... Would you have presented your solution differently or more effectively if you had a greater insight of the internal customer? Could you have developed a more compelling, focused value proposition by framing your response differently? Could you have won the business?
For the purpose of opening productive dialogue between the ‘buy and supply’ side of tendering, APMP has invited representatives from across the procurement spectrum to participate in a panel discussion and explore a variety of issues. Discussion topics broadly include:
- Pre-tender engagement to improve understanding of the requirement - on both sides
- Discuss examples of where and how good procurements have been achieved - including where better practices could have improved outcomes
- Developing an appreciation of the pressures and complexities for participants on all sides - how would we do if we had to swap places?
From this initial event we are hoping to kick-off a lively and insightful discussion. Our facilitator for the evening is Phil Hall of Forge Support, member of both APMP and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
Opportunities to network amongst your professional peers will be present both before and after the forum.
The Panel Members
Our list of panel participants is currently being finalised. Participants already include: senior government procurement officers; representatives from major public and private sector suppliers; professional bid and procurement advisors. Final details to be published shortly.
Tickets are limited
This event is being held in the MacMillan room at Portcullis House, adjacent to the House of Commons and the site where MPs have their offices. The venue has limited capacity and we anticipate early book-out of available places.
Tickets are £10 each* and due to limited capacity, restricted to one ticket per member. Booking opens at 9:00am on Monday 7th March 2016.
Your APMP membership number is required when booking and you will be asked to submit a question that may be selected by the panel for discussion on the night.

18:30 -19:45: "Question Time" facilitated panel forum
19:45 -20:00: Networking. There are many nearby venues to continue networking afterwards if you wish.
