With the governement swinging towards IDIQs we are seeing shorter response times for RFPs--anywhere from 2 to 30 days. I have a rapid proposal process I have been honing over the past 2 years, but would like to hear what others are doing. How do you prepare? What do you do to get ready? What Staples do you have on hand? Etc

Good Intel is allways important so you can plan on what is upcomming. Also, most rapid response IDIQ are looking for the specific technical solution since being accepted for the IDIQ basic you had to answer management, processes, etc. Set-up a TO response process where you get rapid selection of the division or team member that will be responding to the various gov. proposed IDIQ areas in the original solicitation. We experienced that some tool support adds to speed up the processes. This includes tools for dimensioning of resources as well as for pricing and proposal generation.

Rapid turnarounds are a specialty of mine - as I am called on routinely to provide them. Regardless of tools in place - if the client is a new bird - you have work to do to meet a deadline because you have to morph your tool to fit their criteria.
Understanding the requirements through a thorough study of what is being asked for is essential. Also, writing in the voice of relevance is award winning.
