10 Things You Should ALWAYS Check Before You Submit

Phyllis Collins
Proposal Editor/Writer, Accenture Federal Services

There are two schools of thought on whether or not typos and other errors will affect evaluation scoring or cost your company a proposal win. Some say yes, others say no, but there is more at work in an evaluation than just reading. In 10 Things You Should ALWAYS Check Before You Submit, we will cover the common errors that kick off one or more of five communications filters (distraction, emotions, beliefs and expectations, differences in style, and self-protection) and how they create barriers that your reviewer may not even realize have been triggered. Learn the difference between petrels and pretzels, and discover how one of them nearly derailed a submitted response. Do not let this happen to you!

Phyllis Collins

Phyllis has always loved writing and after working as an on air personality for several radio and TV stations, she worked for the Detroit News, The Detroit Free Press, and the Michigan Chronicle. But Phyllis wanted to travel - and wanted someone else to pay for it - so she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Before ending her military career, she received several commendations for exemplary performance and she had traveled over three quarters of the globe. She is still a freelance writer whose articles have appeared in several magazines in the United States. Phyllis also worked as a grant writer for Texas A&M University before discovering the wonderful world of proposals. Phyllis is active in the Dallas Metroplex as a student mentor and as a featured speaker.
