Epic Fail - When Success was Reasonably Easy to Attain

Laura Higgins, CP APMP
Bid Manager /Oral Proposals, IBM

Joyce Loegel
President and Proposal Manager, Proposal Prose LLC

Anything that can go wrong might go wrong even to the best-planned proposals. We need ready contingency plans to handle those problems quickly. For proposal professionals, success is the primary criterion for recognition and advancement. Developing proposals is a stressful business and reducing the stress is a highly valued skill. Combining successful submissions of compliant proposals with a calm, well-managed environment is the path to career advancement. As a proof point on resumes, we have better opportunities for positions with wider scope and management responsibility in our own and other companies. Through presentation and small group discussions of experienced practitioners, we will identify potential problems and real solutions. By sharing problems and resolutions, we will deepen the participants’ toolbox and avoid future "epic fail.” We all will become better proposal managers and deliver better proposals in a calmer atmosphere.
