APMP Closes APMP Bid & Proposal Con 2013
Association Wraps Up Largest Annual Conference, to Date, for Proposal, Bid, Capture, Business Development and Graphics Professionals  

Washington, DC, June 11, 2013 APMP®, the global association of record for bid, proposal, business, capture and graphics professionals completed the best-attended annual conference in the organization’s history. APMP’s Bid & Proposal Con 2013 was held in Atlanta, GA, May 28 – 31, 2013, with 719 industry professionals from 15 countries in attendance.

The conference began Tuesday, May 28, 2013 with APMP Certification Day, offering attendees the opportunity to strengthen their professional profile and prove their industry knowledge through APMP Certification programs on the Foundation, Practitioner and Professional levels. More than 58 industry professionals achieved APMP Foundation Level certification in an onsite course offered by Approved Training Organization CSK Management. Forty-five participated in the Practitioner Quick Start and Completion workshops. An additional five completed Professional Level certification.  In all 108 proposal professionals took advantage of APMP’s third annual Certification Day.

"APMP’s Bid & Proposal Con is fast becoming the world’s premier education, networking event for anybody truly serious about proposal, bids, business development, capture and graphics,” said Rick Harris, Executive Director, APMP. "There is a pent-up demand for what we have, the thought leaders we are fostering and our collective voice that this profession is the quiet economic engine of most companies.  Our attendees have told us they no longer want to be quiet and we are listening,” he said.

APMP also delivered more than 60 educational sessions that addressed six areas of focus: Federal Proposal Management, Commercial Proposal Management, Capture, Business Development, Software, Apps Graphics and Production and Team Building.

Other significant conference highlights include:

  • A merger announcement of the BD-Institute with APMP to form the new Center for Business Development Executives (CBDE), a new APMP community for business development professionals.
  • The launch of a Capture and Business Development Executives Conference in the Washington, DC area in September, co-hosted by the CBDE.
  • The unveiling of a new Federal Community, specifically to cater to APMP members with a federal focus.
