APMP Establishes the APMP Federal Community
Group’s initiatives identify characteristics of Federal community proposal management and BD professionals

 

Washington, DC, September 19, 2013 — The Association of Proposal Management Professionals’ (APMP®) has created the APMP Federal Community, professionals dedicated to all areas of federal bid and proposal management and related growth, education and networking opportunities.

The APMP Federal Community in response to an expressed need to develop a forum and networking opportunities for industry professionals and the federal government, with the intent to offer informative, educational opportunities for the APMP membership and Federal proposal, bid, capture, business development and graphics professionals.

The APMP Federal Community will launch two surveys this Fall. The first is intended to further define the global profile of professionals who work in proposal management, in relation to Federal governments. It will be fielded by APMP in late 2013 to APMP Federal members and key contacts that represent Federal proposal, capture and business development practices. The results will be released in early 2014. The second survey, developed by the APMP Government Task Force, will elicit feedback from government contracting officials on how terminology and evaluation criteria influences Federal bid factors and responses. Members of the APMP Federal Community will help share the results with the U.S. Department of Defense community.

The APMP Federal Community is also responsible for educational opportunities, such as Federal sessions at APMP’s Bid & Proposal Con and the webinar, No Contract Vehicles Needed: How Uncle Sam Spends the Other Half!, with unique insight into information useful to business owners, executives and professionals responsible for developing and implementing federal sector growth strategies.
