New Single Year APMP Foundation Level
Certification Record Achieved
certified in 2014
DC, January 7, 2015 – More Association of Proposal
(APMP®) members became Foundation Level Certified in 2014 than at
any time in the program’s 10 year-history. The new single year record for
Foundation Level certifications earned was 1,013, which is 49 more than the
previous record, set in 2012.
In just five years APMP’s annual Foundation Level
Certification completion rate has increased 58 percent – up from 641 completers
in 2010. Since 2004 more than 5,400
proposal professionals have achieved the distinction of being Foundation Level
"Having APMP Foundation Level certification has gone from
something nice to have to something you must have because it proves a specific
level of proficiency and standards,” said Rick Harris, APMP Executive Director.
"More companies throughout the world are requiring this certification for
existing and incoming proposal professionals, which can only be good for our
industry as a whole.”
APMP’s Practitioner and Professional Level certification
participation held steady through 2014, but the marked growth was achieved in
APMP’s Foundation Level certification.
Mr. Harris attributes the Foundation Level certification
growth to a booming APMP membership, a pent-up demand to demonstrate knowledge
through the APMP Foundation Level certification exam, the promotional work of
Certification Director Charlie Divine and an APMP priority focus on the
association’s certification program. He also cited the work of APMP’s Approved Training Organizations (ATOs) that are teaching and guiding participants through their
Foundation exams, globally.
