APMP Surpasses the 6,000 Member Mark
Global Industry Sees the Value in Professional Association Membership

Washington, DC, March 5, 2015 – Today APMP® announced that it now has more than 6,000 members, tracking with progressive global growth in the association’s 26 year history. APMP was formed in 1989, with 28 charter members.


Today, APMP has become a worldwide authority for professionals dedicated to the process of winning business through proposals, capture, business development, sales and marketing and has
26 chapters around the world, including more than 2,500 members from Fortune 500 companies.

"The membership growth is a direct response to the industry’s continued need for advanced certification, best practices, reliable resources, research and networking opportunities. Above all, APMP helps our members in their professional and career development goals,” said Rick Harris, Executive Director, APMP. 

APMP membership increased 15 percent from February 2014 through February 2015, at a time when other professional associations are either losing members, struggling to stay flat or anticipate much more modest annual growth of between four to six percent.

The 6,000th APMP member is Maryke Otto, Bid Manager from Dimension Data (Pty) Ltd. in South Africa. She belongs to the APMP South Africa Chapter and will receive an additional year of APMP membership at no extra cost. Almost half of APMP membership is found outside the United States, primarily in Europe, proving a global need for the resources APMP membership delivers.
