APMP Procurement Improvement Committee (PIC) Releases White Paper on
Industry Days Reform
Briefing Lists Recommendations to Improve Industry Days

Washington, DC, July 1, 2015
The Association of Proposal Management Professionals® (APMP®), the worldwide authority for best practices, education and career development for professionals dedicated to the process of winning business through proposals, bids, capture, business development and presentations, announced the release of a white paper, Improving Industry Days, produced by the APMP Procurement Improvement Committee (PIC). Improving Industry Days is the third industry briefing released by the APMP PIC in 2015 and is free for APMP members.

"APMP understands the importance of an Industry Day briefing to communicate critical insight into the mission, needs, and focused goals of government requests for proposals (RFP),” said Rick Harris, Executive Director, APMP. "The Improving Industry Days white paper lists recommendations for specific ways industry and government can make Industry Days more meaningful.”

Industry Days are
meetings based on Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) that are essential platforms to decision-making and business processes information exchange that affect procurement and acquisition and allow government to obtain reasonable pricing and efficiency on supplies and services.

The white paper outlines how private and public sectors can contribute to better Industry Days through parameters that will make them more consistent, efficient, better attended, and more engaging, resulting in better RFP, Harris adds. "These types of member resources are at the core of what APMP does. Our dedicated members are the leading edge of proposal management and business development, particularly when it comes to working with Federal partners.”

The APMP PIC collaborates with government to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of competitive procurements and to provide a voice that can help government understand industry interactions. The collaborative goal is to build standardization, decrease costs, and to reduce cycle time and protests. Visit www.apmp.org for details.
