APMP Board of Directors Approves New APMP Japan
Membership Expansion is
Pivotal in Recognizing the Proposal Profession in Asia
DC, Sept. 28, 2015 – The Association of Proposal Management Professionals® (APMP®), Board of Directors unanimously approved a petition to
start the APMP Japan chapter, based in Tokyo, that will provide best practices
and professional opportunities for its members in Japan.
"Traditionally, the cultural focus in this region is on individual
achievements. APMP Japan will answer the strong need for uniform, consistent
best practices to win proposals that can be adopted by many,” says Rick Harris,
executive director, APMP. "APMP growth in Japan illustrates global recognition
of proposal, bid and business development as a profession that reaches across
many industries and organizations.”
Ms. Kumiko Shikimachi, Chapter Chair and founder of APMP Japan, is supported by
Mr. Naoki Matsuda, Chapter Vice Chair.
"Our mission is to popularize proposal management in Japan by providing
training and networking opportunities to professionally develop proposal skills,”
said Ms. Shikimachi. The APMP Japan Board will accomplish this goal, through
concerted efforts focused on
building APMP membership and educational and networking events. "An important
benefit to prospective members will be access to the APMP Body of Knowledge
(BOK) in Japanese. We will contribute to further development of the APMP BOK
for this market, to popularize proposal management best practices throughout
APMP Japan joins the Association as the 27th APMP
