National Capital Area 2015 Mid-Atlantic Conference Success
APMP NCA Mid-Atlantic Conference and Expo Provides Insights on Capture and Proposal Management for Government Business

The following press release was submitted by the APMP NCA Chapter.

Washington, DC, Nov. 9, 2015 – The APMP NCA chapter brought together more than 240 capture and proposal development professionals and 20 vendors in Springfield, Virginia, Oct. 22, 2015.

"With more than 20 sessions led by thought leaders from industry and government, this event provided a full day of learning in business development and proposal best practices that attendees can now use to improve the bid capabilities of their companies,” shared APMP-NCA President, Maryann Lesnick, CP APMP, PMP, CSM, MOS.

The conference offered 33 speakers, including six government representatives, and moderators who orchestrated the one-day business conference whose theme this year was "Navigating the Procurement Obstacle Course.” The conference was structured as five four-session tracks: Proposal Management, Business Strategies, Capture Management, Communications, and  Professional Development. This year’s conference examined opportunities and ongoing challenges faced by companies working to win new business with the federal government. While the economy appears to be in recovery, pressure to spend less and spend better remains. Further, the "Great Recession” coupled with ongoing developments in technology, geopolitics, and a competitive environment have prompted structural shifts that are changing the way organizations must work to be successful. Every investment—in time, people, knowledge, and  tools—must stem from a compelling value proposition.

In addition, with a 100 percent pass rate, 24 APMP members achieved APMP Foundation certification in a training class offered Oct. 21 by Lohfeld Consulting Group.

The success of the 2015 Mid-Atlantic Conference and Expo means it will be returning in the fall of 2016. Follow APMP-NCA for regional and national engagement with like-minded capture and proposal professionals beyond next year.
