May 24, 2011 — Colleen Jolly, PPF.APMP,
an owner of the 24 Hour Company in Falls
Church, VA, was honored as the 2012 recipient of the Insight Award
presented by the Association of Proposal
Management Professionals (APMP®) for best article published in a 2011 issue of
the Journal of the Association of
Proposal Management Professionals (APMP Journal).
The award was presented to
Ms. Jolly at APMP's Bid & Proposal Con 2012 First Annual Awards Dinner at
the Dallas Sheraton on May 24, 2012 in Dallas,
TX.
Her winning article ran in the spring/summer
issue of 2011 and was titled, "An
American Abroad, The Story of One Small Business Expanding Internationally.”
The article serves as a primer for small-to-medium
businesses considering international expansion and provides a fascinating case
study of the 24 Hour Company's international expansion outside the US."
"Given APMP's role in the
international expansion of the proposal community, it is especially gratifying
to see the Insight Award celebrate an article that described one contribution
to that global reach,” said Ali Paskun, AF.APMP, the APMP Journal Managing Editor.
The
Insight Award is presented annually at the APMP Conference to the author of the
best article published in the APMP
Journal the previous year.
It is
selected by the Journal staff; announced
by Paskun; and is based on usefulness, reader feedback, and the ability of the
author to clearly communicate and pass on to the reader knowledge that elevates
the proposal industry.
"I am honored to have received this award which highlights the cross-cultural communication happening right now in the international bidding world. It is my hope that this helps other smaller companies make the plunge to learning and growing overseas," said Ms. Jolly.
This
is the second year in a row that a Principal in the 24 Hour Company has won
APMP's Insight Award.
Mike Parkinson
received the Award in 2011 his article called "The Science of Proposal
Graphics.”
