Do You Have What it Takes to Win?

In an industry that's all about winning, APMP delivers another chance to win. APMP chapter leadership works hard throughout the year, and now it's time you get the recognition you deserve. APMP Awards are given annually to recognize the outstanding achievements of chapters and members, during the prior year. The awards are celebrated at the APMP annual conference.


Nominations closed on February 19, 2016 at 5 p.m. ET USA for the 2016 Awards.

APMP awards are given for the outstanding achievements in the previous calendar year. Chapters must be current on Quarterly Chapter Rebate Form Submissions and follow APMP policies and procedures.

All APMP awards candidates must be members in good standing are are encouraged to follow these tips when submitting a nomination form:

  • Detail why you or your chapter should be considered for the award (in 500 words or less).
  • Make your nomination stronger by citing quantifiable examples to illustrate accomplishments. The more examples you can use, the better.  
  • All nominations must be unique. Duplicate entries will be eliminated.

APMP Awards Categories

APMP chapters and members in good standing may nominate or self-nominate for these awards:   

  • Chapter Programs/Special Events
    Honors the APMP chapter that provides outstanding programming at regularly-scheduled chapter meetings and/or a special event.
  • Chapter Communications Award
    Honors the chapter that provides outstanding content and value in communications (newsletter, website, email blast, social media or other communications means).
  • The Stephen P. Shipley Award for Chapter of the Year
    Honors the APMP chapter that demonstrates excellence in chapter sustenance and development through support of APMP initiatives.
  • APMP Future Leader Award
    Honors a new proposal, bid, capture, business development or graphics professional who has made a significant contribution to the industry for his/her organization this year and shows potential for future organizational leadership   
  • The John Elder Journal Award
    Honors the author(s) an informative story that delivers educational value and clarity and appeared in the past year's issue of the APMP Journal.     

In addition, APMP also gives the following performance based awards:

  • Chapter that Sold the Most Corporate Memberships
  • Chapter with the Largest Annual Membership Growth
  • APMP Chapter Chair of the Year awarded at the discretion of the APMP Executive Committee.

APMP Awards Evaluation and Judging

The awards are judged by a committee of unbiased association professionals from the American Society of Association Executives.  The awards are assessed, based on the strength of the nominations, cited examples of measured accomplishments, and the success in delivering programs that surpass other chapters'/organizations' efforts. Each nomination is ranked, based on specific criteria, and the Chapter Awards are granted to the highest-ranking nomination for each award category.
