Writing Proposals Without the Pain

Saturday, May 28, 2016 | 9:40 AM - 10:40 AM | Fairfax AB

Samantha Enslen
Christy Roach Hollywood
Why is writing proposals so painful? And so slow? Why do we often wind up with poor results, even after endless agony? This session debunks the myths that prevent us from writing quickly and effectively – and charts a clear path for pain-free writing. Topics include how to speed your writing process by adopting four distinct personas with four distinct tasks; how to use mind mapping to break through writer's block and create a ready-to-write outline; and how to use tools such as daily writing, Pomodoros, and half-finished sentences to destroy procrastination and get the job done.

Samantha Enslen runs Dragonfly Editorial, an agency that provides writing and editing to customers worldwide. She is the former editorial manager for CSC and a former contributing editor to the Editorial Eye. She is also an award-winning writer who has been recognized for her websites, brochures, features and white papers. Sam is on the executive board of the American Copy Editors Society (ACES) and is the managing editor of Tracking Changes, ACES’ quarterly journal.

Christy Roach Hollywood, CF APMP, is Principal/President of Hollywood & Associates, Ltd.
