How to Succeed Managing Proposals and People

Thursday, May 26, 2016 | 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM | Commonwealth

Krystn Gull
Hayley Flamm
A proposal manager leads teams of members who report directly to others. But what happens when someone becomes so accomplished that he/she is promoted to managing a team of people? This session provides a 90-day ramp-up plan for this new level of management. Attendees will learn tangible steps for effectively combining both worlds and will hear real-life stories of successes and failures from an experienced manager and a newbie.

Krystn Gull, CP APMP, LEED AP has worked at several engineering firms, managing teams with as many as 20 employees in six offices nationwide. Krystn often finds herself balancing the needs of her team with her own intense deadlines, and she has learned many lessons along the way. She inspires teams to love proposals and helps employees succeed within their own careers. Krystn is on the APMP international Board of Directors.

As an experienced proposal manager, Hayley Flamm, CF APMP, recently made the transition from managing proposals to also managing people. In the past year, she has learned valuable lessons in time management, ways to improve team performance, and a variety of management tricks. Hayley is on the APMP Greater Midwest Chapter Board of Directors.
