Prep and Practice: The Keys to Success at Orals

Thursday, May 26, 2016 | 3:50 PM - 4:50 PM | Republic

Mike Walsh
The fastest way to derail an amazing proposal effort is by not effectively preparing the delivery of your oral presentation. Teams are still routinely sent into presentations unprepared, minimally prepared, with too many (or worse, the wrong) team members and, worst of all, with a 457-slide deck for a 60-minute presentation. This session will demonstrate methods to help ease the stage fright of key team members, properly prepare teams for orals, reduce reliance on PowerPoint and deliver effective, memorable presentations during oral presentations.

Mike Walsh, CF APMP, is EY’s FSO assurance service line enablement manager. He brings a wealth of proposal management, orals coaching, and team management skills. Additionally, Mike is the president of APMP’s Nor’easters chapter. Prior to this, Mike served as a communication and pursuit strategist at EY, a proposal manager for Odyssey Systems Consulting Group, and an officer in the USCG. He has a B.S. from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and an MA in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University.
