Machiavelli's Guide to Proposals

Thursday, May 26, 2016 | 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM | Republic

Jon Williams
Niccolo Machiavelli was born in Florence in 1469. He became infamous centuries later for his scheming, devious advice.  He wrote for princes, politicians and leaders. As proposal professionals, our job is to lead teams on specific proposals and to lead our organizations to take proposals seriously.  So, what can we learn from Machiavelli?  In this entertaining, sometimes cynical session, the presenter will offer challenging, provocative advice drawing on the life and writings of one of history's most thought-provoking and controversial thinkers. And you'll walk away with guidelines that you can use to make your approach to proposal development more effective.

Jon Williams, CPP APMP Fellow, has worked with proposal teams in more than 30 countries in his role managing proposal centers and as a leading team of senior consultants. Co-author with BJ Lownie of "Proposal Essentials” and the "Proposal Guys” blog, Jon is a Fellow of the Association and served as the first chief executive of its U.K. chapter. He has presented at numerous APMP conferences worldwide and has won a variety of industry awards for his writing and training.
