Customer Service or Customer Servant? Striking the Right Balance with Your Internal Customers

Friday, May 27, 2016 | 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM | Back Bay D

Diane Wurzer
Carl Schaller
Are your business development and capture teams out of control? Join this session to explore a business model where these teams are not part of the proposal organization—they are customers, each with their own ideas of what the proposal development process entails. Is it possible to be flexible without sacrificing the integrity of your proposal process? Attendees will see a case study and some practical solutions. Come share your experiences and take away some creative ideas on how you can keep your BD and capture teams happy without becoming a servant to their every whim.

Diane Wurzer, CP APMP, has more than 15 years' proposal and grant writing experience. She is Vice President of Proposal Operations for MAXIMUS, Inc., having served as director of Network Operations for five years prior to moving into proposal operations. She leads a team of proposal writers and managers, working with capture and business development teams to facilitate solutions and allocate resources for proposal development. She achieved her APMP Foundation Certification in 2011 and Practitioner Certification in 2015.

Carl "Chip” Schaller has 25 years' experience in successful proposal development and has served in positions of increasing management responsibility, including all aspects of capture and strategy development. He achieved APMP Foundation Certification in 2010.
