Melissa is an Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) accredited member and independent proposal consultant whose career has focused on developing and implementing strategic proposal management plans, writing persuasive proposals, and building exemplary proposal teams and processes as both an employee of companies like UnitedHealthcare and as a consultant to numerous companies across the U.S. Throughout her career, she has used a collaborative approach to gain buy-in and participation from cross-functional teams that include contributors from the front-line to the C-suite alike. Her approach, based on best practices developed over nearly 17 years, has resulted in billions of dollars in public sector contract acquisitions/retentions. Throughout her career, Melissa has facilitated and led strategy development and proposal development efforts using resulting in an average of an 83% win rate for her employers and clients.
