 APMP Acquires ProCM to Deliver More Value to Its Members at the Start of 2016
International Association Adds to Growing Business Development Portfolio

Washington, D.C., January 4, 2016 – The Association of Proposal Management Professionals® (APMP®), announced today that it has acquired ProCM, a Washington, D.C., regional association dedicated to developing, advancing, and growing the capture and business development management professions by empowering industry professionals and the entire federal business development life cycle.

APMP is the international association for proposal, bid, capture, business development, and marketing/graphics professionals, providing certification, best practices, and networking opportunities for its 6,600+ members worldwide.

"This acquisition is a true win-win for all involved,” said Rick Harris, Executive Director, APMP. "We’re combining APMP’s global education, resources, networking, and certification opportunities with ProCM’s strong sense of community and commitment to federal business development. APMP’s members are going to benefit with an influx of ProCM members and all of their ideas and enthusiasm for capture management.”

As a result of the acquisition, APMP will welcome all ProCM members effective Monday, January 4. All ProCM members will receive the following in the coming weeks:

  • One year of complimentary membership in APMP no matter when their membership was set to expire with ProCM.
  • A complimentary PDF copy of the 2015 APMP United States Compensation Report.
  • An invitation to APMP’s Capture Community.
  • Invitations to APMP’s capture and business development events hosted by APMP’s National Capital Area Chapter.

ProCM co-founders Helene and Bob Johnson said they are "very excited about this strategic acquisition of ProCM by APMP.”

ProCM’s mission was to help establish capture management professionals as a critical functional discipline/career in the federal sector. "This acquisition creates the best possible environment to realize the mission and to rapidly grow this career path. APMP’s membership growth in business development and capture management has risen from 2 percent to 12 percent in just three years, Harris noted. APMP’s acquisition of ProCM will only help bolster that number this year.
