APMP Announces Chapter and Individual Awards Winners

Member and company accomplishments to be celebrated at San Diego conference
(Washington, DC May 11, 2018) The Association of Proposal Management Professionals® (APMP®) announced today its annual award winners for accomplishments and contributions in 2017.
“Each of these companies, chapters, and individuals are making a difference to strengthen our industry,” said Rick Harris, APMP Executive Director. “This year’s winners are lauded for helping APMP with a core mission – to raise the professionalism in the bid and proposal industry. APMP award winners are the industry’s best.”
These outstanding individuals, chapters, and companies will be celebrated at the association’s upcoming 2018 Bid & Proposal Con, which will take place May 15-18, 2018, in San Diego, CA.
The following APMP Awards were announced today:
Bid & Proposal Team of the Year
Hogan Lovells, a global law firm, for building a cohesive, effective proposal team that demonstrates industry best practices, thought leadership, and a commitment to the professional development of its members.
Chapter Chair of the Year
Bruce Farrell, an employee of Plante Moran, for being a chapter leader who demonstrates responsiveness, innovation, and leadership in growing and sustaining the APMP Greater Midwest chapter.
Chapter Communications Award
The APMP UK chapter for its concise, clear and effective web and print communications to support its more than 20 annual chapter events.
Chapter Member Connection Award
The National Capital Area chapter for its focus on bringing APMP members together through innovative networking events like its Member Appreciation night.
Evolving Chapter of the Year
The Maple Leaf chapter for being a group that has shifted its services and/or member benefits in the past year to address marketplace needs—namely, for its efforts to make its chapter bilingual to address the two official languages in Canada.
Executive Summary of the Year
McElhanney, an engineering, surveying, and mapping company, recognized for its Executive Summary submission, which was evaluated for strength in writing, clarity, and persuasiveness.
John Elder Journal Award
Amber Hart for “A Case for Diversification in Proposal Consulting: Why Transitioning from Government to Commercial Is Smart,” Spring 2017
Proposal and Bid Industry Executive of the Year
Krystn Gull, recognized as an industry professional who stands out as a thought leader for her efforts in promoting and advancing the profession, not only through her involvement with APMP chapters but also in her roles in her career.
The Stephen P. Shipley Award for Chapter of the Year
Florida Sunshine Chapter for tirelessly working to connect members and positively putting APMP members first – focusing on their personal and professional accomplishments in 2017.
Vendor of the Year
Shipley Associates for its exemplary writing contribution in support of APMP’s certification program and Body of Knowledge throughout 2017.
APMP also recently announced the second class of 40 Under 40 winners, a program designed to recognize contributors who are young but have already made a noticeable impression on their companies and the overall profession. The 2018 class features professionals in the global bid and proposal industry who are winning big, revamping processes, facilitating teamwork, and giving back to their communities.
“We look forward to celebrating all of these award winners next week in San Diego,” adds Harris. “We want to have the opportunity to thank them in person for their efforts to shape the future of the proposal management profession.”
