The Association of Proposal Management Professionals® (APMP®) announced today that four of its professionals were awarded the APMP Fellows Award and one was given the Harold C. McRae Founder’s Award for lifetime achievement in the industry.

Alan Goldberg of NAVAIR was honored with the McRae Founder’s Award for his lifetime achievement in APMP. For more than 20 years, Mr. Goldberg has directly connected APMP with the U.S. Federal government. He has expertly and tirelessly shared his unique government perspective on U.S. Federal procurement that helped APMP become more focused, sharp and goal oriented to its government community.

The McRae Founder’s Award is a rare honor reserved for the most accomplished and distinguished APMP members. Mr. Goldberg is only the eighth recipient of this award in APMP’s 29-year history.

“What Alan has done for our industry is truly a lifetime achievement,” said Rick Harris, APMP Executive Director. “We are a better industry because of his enormous contributions. We are a better country for the work he has accomplished.”

Along with Goldberg, APMP honored the following individuals at the opening ceremony of its 2018 Bid & Proposal Con event, taking place this week in San Diego. The APMP Fellows Award is one of the associations highest honors and recognizes individuals who have served in APMP with high distinction. It is awarded annually at APMP’s Bid & Proposal Con. This year’s recipients include:

  • Krystn Gull, Burns & McDonnell, APMP California Chapter – For her deep leadership in multiple APMP chapters and rebuilding the Chapter Liaison Committee into a positive contributing APMP group.
  • Isabel Moritz, Moritz Bid Support, LTD, APMP UK Chapter -- For contributions to the APMP UK’s membership growth through quality education, planning and execution.
  • Janneke Orriens, Strategic Proposals, APMP Netherlands Chapter – For her commitment to growing APMP in non-English speaking Netherlands and leading APMP throughout Europe for more than a decade.
  • Neil Philipson, Mott MacDonald Africa, APMP South Africa – For his commitment to APMP certification and chapter growth in South Africa. It is the region with the highest number of certified APMP member per capita.

APMP Fellows have accomplished one of the association’s highest individual honor through their achievements in the profession. The selection process focuses on individuals’ contributions throughout their careers. Nominations are submitted by their industry peers and are judged independently by a panel of association executives.

“Inducting a new class of APMP’s Fellows and honoring Alan with the McRae Founder’s Award is a highlight of our annual Bid & Proposal Con event. Each of this year’s recipients has been instrumental in moving APMP, its membership and its chapters forward in significant ways,” said Harris.
