The Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP®) announced today that its Membership Research Committee has released an ethics survey. The goal is to fully understand the pressures facing bid and proposal professionals regarding ethics in the workplace.
“Our APMP Ethics Survey is a member driven query designed to understand and accurately report ethical challenges that our members may face,” said Rick Harris, Executive Director of APMP. “Recent global news on ethics in the workplace has produced toxic and troubling results. We believe that looking inward helps our industry proactively strive to be the best it can be. This global survey will help clearly define an ethical standard,” said Harris.
Designed to solicit honest answers to tough questions, the APMP Ethics Survey was created by APMP member Peggy Dufour, CPP APMP, in association with Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. It was released by APMP’s Member Research Committee and gives respondents and opportunity to answer honestly in a completely anonymous environment.
All members are strongly encouraged to participate in this important survey from both a personal and professional point of view.
“We want to give APMP members a confidential outlet to help us learn, measure and address ethics in our industry,” said Ginny Carson, CPP APMP and co-chair of APMP’s Member Research Committee. “As a member, I am proud that APMP is leading this conversation and our committee will recommend solutions for challenges that may need to be addressed,” she said.
The APMP Ethics Survey will be open until June 10, 2018. APMP’s Member Research Committee will then review the findings and create an industry paper recommending association programming to strengthen the industry’s commitment to ethics. The recommendations paper will be reviewed by APMP’s International Board to consider future education and programming, if needed.
