(Washington, DC) — June 10, 2011 — Mike Parkinson, AF.APMP, a Principal with the 24 Hour Company in Falls Church, VA, was honored as the 2011 recipient of the Insight Award presented by the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP®) for best article published in a 2010 issue of the Journal of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP Journal).

The award was presented to Parkinson at the 22nd Annual APMP® International Conference & Exhibits at the Sheraton Downtown, Denver, Colorado on June 2, 2011. His winning article, titled "The Science of Proposal Graphics,” appeared in the Fall/Winter 2010 issue of the APMP Journal. It reported the result of research sponsored by a grant from the APMP National Capital Area (NCA) chapter to study the efficacy of a proposal graphics process Parkinson developed.  Members can access the winning article in the APMP Journal archives online.

"It's a pleasure to recognize and honor Mike Parkinson with this award, " said Managing Editor, Ali Paskun, AF.APMP. "His article provides a standardized process for making clear, compelling, winning graphics that can enhance a proposal’s messaging. It’s exciting to learn more about research developed under the APMP’s grant program that is pushing the boundaries within our industry.”

The Insight Award is presented annually at the APMP Conference to the author of the best article published in the APMP Journal the previous year. It is selected by the Journal staff, announced by the Managing Editor and is based on usefulness, reader feedback, and the ability of the author to clearly communicate and pass on to the reader knowledge that elevates the proposal industry.
