APMP Accreditation Took Center Stage at Denver Conference

(Washington, DC) — June 15, 2011 — Seventy-five members of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP®) achieved one of three levels of the association’s accreditation at the recent 22nd APMP International Conference in Denver, CO.

A record number of conference attendees earned Foundation, Practitioner or Professional Level accreditation throughout the four-day APMP conference. Additionally, more than 100 other conference attendees visited the newly established APMP Accreditation Headquarters (A:HQ) to ask Charlie Divine PPF. APMP, APMP’s Director of Accreditation, how they could start planning their personal accreditation journey.

In preconference workshops, 47 APMP members earned their Foundation Level Accreditation, 27 earned their Practitioner Level Accreditation and one member earned the highest level – Professional.

"This was one of the best weeks for APMP Accreditation in the association’s history,” said Rick Harris, APMP’s Executive Director, who recently achieved his Foundation Level Accreditation. "We are developing some exciting new accreditation exam delivery methods with our Approved Training Organizations (ATOs) that will help more of our members become accredited.” Currently, 52 percent of all APMP members have some level of industry accreditation.

APMP Accreditation is the global standard for proposal management and business development related competency. Members who pursue APMP Accreditation:

  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to their career and profession
  • Gain the respect and credibility of peers, clients and their organization’s leaders
  • Improve both their own and their organization’s business development capabilities
  • Bring a focus on best practices to their organization
