Two New APMP Board Members Named for 2012

(Washington, DC) — December 23, 2011 — The Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP®), the worldwide authority for professionals dedicated to the process of winning business through proposals, bids, tenders, and presentations, today announced that it has filled its two remaining Board of Director's positions for 2012.
APMP's Executive Committee appointed Suzanne Jones AM. APMP, Senior Proposal Development Manager on BAE Systems' ES Business Winning team and Betsy Cummings AM.APMP, Proposal Manager at Elbit Systems of America (ESA) in Fort Worth, Texas.
Ms. Jones and Ms. Cummings will both start their two year APMP Board terms as Regional Directors for the Northeast and Southwest, respectively.
Suzanne Jones manages the entire proposal process on major competitive proposals for BAE, providing disciplined, consistent and proven approaches to winning business. Her work has been consistently recognized by her company. She has contributed to millions of dollars of business which has resulted in the Top Honor Award for Outstanding Performance, a Team Impact Award, and a Bronze Chairman Award. Ms. Jones has been a member of APMP since 2004 and has served on the Nor'easters Chapter Board of Directors for the past four years.
Prior to her proposal career, Suzanne worked in the health industry. She has a BS in Exercise Science/Sports Physiology from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Betsy Cummings' work at Elbit Systems of America (ESA) centers around high-performance products and system solutions focusing on the defense, homeland security, commercial aviation, and medical instrumentation markets.
Ms. Cummings has enjoyed a ten-year career in proposal management, writing, and editing and experience as a technical writer in telecommunications and a project editor for a publishing firm. At ESA, she manages the proposal efforts on major competitive proposals and also provides business acquisition process training and proposal writing workshops. She has served as the co-chair for APMP's Texas Lone Star Chapter since 2009 and is a member the Texas Committee for the APMP's Bid & Proposal Con that will be held May 22-25, 2012 in Dallas, TX. In August 2010, Betsy received her APMP Foundation-Level certification.
She has also actively served on the event committee for Snowball Express, an organization devoted to honoring the children of our fallen military heroes, and she has managed multiple events and festivals in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Betsy is also a Celtic and traditional folk musician and regularly performs at various venues and festivals around Texas and the Southwest.
