David Sotolongo Tapped as Bid & Proposal Con 2013 Atlanta Chair

(Washington, DC) — June 4, 2012 — David Sotolongo, Vice President of the Proposal Development Office for RTI International in Research Park Triangle, NC, has been named the Conference Co-Chair for the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP®) Bid & Proposal Con 2013, May 28 through May 31 at the Westin in Downtown Atlanta, GA.

Mr. Sotolongo, a long-time APMP member, former APMP Board member, APMP Fellow and Carolinas Chapter co-founder and member will work directly with Rick Harris, APMP's Executive Director, as Conference Co-Chair as APMP returns to the south for its 24th Annual Conference. Sotolongo's duties include providing advice to APMP staff on conference content development, keynote and educational session speaker recruitment and serving as the Master of Ceremonies for the event.

Sotolongo, is a veteran speaker at APMP events with deep roots in the south, including co-chairing the Southern Proposal Accents Conference (SPAC) for many years. He has also led APMP's Government Industry Task Force at the last two conferences and will work with APMP staff to publicize Bid & Proposal Con with all chapters and drive additional commercial attendees to support APMP's growing commercial programs and educational efforts.

Sotolongo has led the proposal development operations at RTI for 20 years. He holds a BA from Duke University and completed graduated course work in Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was recently accredited at the Professional Level by APMP.

Sotolongo succeeds Jim Hiles of Morgan in Tyson's Corner, VA who guided APMP to one of its most successful conferences in history at Bid & Proposal Con 2012 in Dallas, TX.
