"OMG” Proposals: Literally, "Totes Amazeballs”

Saturday, May 28, 2016 | 10:50 AM - 11:50 AM | Back Bay D

Karen Althen

Mark Whelan
Everyone has been affected by changes in communication methods and there is evidence that technology can both enhance and decrease literacy. Writers and evaluators increasingly use communication methods and evaluation techniques that require more focus on precise responses, so it’s important to ensure that scoring is maximized in the minimum word count. This session promotes thoughts and local discussion amongst the APMP community to demonstrate that bid submissions must consider the generation, culture and media literacy of everyone involved in the bid cycle.

Karen Althen is an enthusiastic and engaging APMP Practitioner, who has been involved in bid production and management for the past 10 years. She has achieved success by introducing and embedding best practices with style and accuracy and is an expert in public sector frameworks.  She is a proactive member and supporter of APMP UK events. She is actively engaged in mentoring other bid professionals through the APMP certification process.

Mark Whelan, CPP APMP, has been involved in technical and commercial proposal management for the past 20 years.  He is a successful business leader experienced in engaging at an executive level.  Mark enjoys building and managing winning teams through mentoring and leading by example.
