Becoming Your Own Best Orienteer: Charting Your Personal Development

For proposal professional at all levels, there is a vast array of training and professional development opportunities available. Unfortunately, the reality is that time is short, training budgets are often limited, and life often gets in the way. It is essential to select courses and events that provide the most proverbial "bang for the buck." The key to getting that benefit is to know where you are going professionally and to know the resources that you have to help you get there. A training plan is something that we are all familiar with. We have developed them for our companies, our employees, and our customers. But, how many of us have a personal training plan? This session will include a basic framework for developing a personal development plan, as well as guide the attendees through using the spreadsheets I have developed to facilitate prioritizing goals at each step of the process.

Ms. White is an APMP Practitioner Certified capture and proposal expert with over 15 years of Federal contracting experience. Currently, she provides proposal management support to one of the Federal government's leading contractors. Ms. White is a strong advocate of work/life balance and taking charge of your professional destiny. She has authored professional development blog articles and spoken at previous APMP National conferences including the 2015 and was slated to speak in 2016.
