Session Description

Writing Business Bids and Proposals for Dummies in a Nutshell (limited to first 60 people)

The seminar is targeted for newcomers to the proposal discipline or seasoned proposal professionals who just want to brush up on their techniques. It is specifically directed to members in APMP’s Business Sector (aka Commercial). The seminar will focus on the key practices for writing effective business proposals presented in the APMP Dummies book, Writing Business Bids and Proposals for Dummies. The session will cover critical areas of proposal writing from the book, while providing hands-on experience in three sequential parts: Getting your story together – learning about your customer and how its story connects with your company’s story; Crafting your argument – building the proposal narrative from end to end, including tips for clear and persuasive writing; Packaging your proposal – assembling the parts into a one-of-a-kind, persuasive communication. Attendees will work through short exercises that will help them translate theory to action. The scenario will be a straightforward, non-technical opportunity taken from real life. Bring your laptop and your complementary copy of "Writing Business Bids and Proposals for Dummies” provided at registration.
