Robin Davis, CPP APMP Fellow (Class of 2019)

CEO
Metre

Bio

Robin founded and is CEO of Metre, a proposal development consulting firm exclusively dedicated to the healthcare industry.

She fell into proposals in 2001 when she identified a need on the sales team she was supporting. She found APMP and built the proposal function at the company from the ground up. After getting downsized, she launched her firm in 2009 and has never looked back. Robin and her team have helped health plans and healthcare services organizations win billions in revenue in the employer (FI and ASO), state and local government, Medicaid, and Medicare markets across all product lines (e.g., medical, pharmacy, dental/vision). In 2021, she brought on a business partner/COO to support rapid growth and expansion into new markets. With thousands of winning proposals under her belt, she's most proud of the company's 95% repeat business rate--a sign that clients trust Metre to help them win without that drama. Metre is recommended as the proposal firm of choice by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association and has a 90% win rate for state business with the Blues.

She is also a sought-after speaker, teacher, and mentor inside and outside the proposal industry. She lives in Nashville, TN, with her wife and five animals. She owns a neighborhood bar/restaurant/craft beer mecca/pub with her wife and "eats, drinks, and travels for fun."

What does being an APMP Fellow mean to you?

It means that I'm all in! I love this industry, I love what I do, and being an Association Fellow with those letters behind my name is a visual representation of that. I like to spend time with my proposal nerd friends, talking about fonts, the art and science of our industry, and sharing my experiences to help others grow. This is my tribe; these are my people.

What's your best memory from attending an APMP event?

Just one? The first conference I attended in 2001 changed the trajectory of my career. When I spoke at my first BPC conference in 2006, I fell in love with it. The connections that I've made at APMP events are priceless. Again, this is my tribe.
